Cornell
In this Realtor’s opinion, Cornell is simply the most family friendly community in all of Markham. Situated in the north east pocket of Markham surrounded by farmland and the Rouge River Valley, the streetscapes are pretty and pristine. Cornell houses have a distinctly Victorian charm with inviting front porches, and whimsical architectural details. Cars are kept at the rear in garages off laneways. On a nice day, you’ll see a constant stream of kids on bikes and parents with strollers heading to any one of dozens playgrounds, parks or the new dog park. Cornell has an abundance of shops, daycares, fitness studios, and salons. The community features a new state-of-the-art high school (with English and French immersion streams), three elementary schools and one elementary Catholic school. The Cornell Community Centre & Library offers a pool, courts, and lots of places to meet. Markham Stouffville Hospital and Cornell Transit Terminal round out the convenience offered by this community. Just a five minute drive away you’ll find the shops and boutiques of Main Street Markham, and a two minute drive gets you onto Highway 407. Cornell is a 30 minute drive to downtown Toronto.
