Markham Village
What We Love About Markham Village
Wrapped around Historic Main Street Markham, Markham Village and the surrounding area offers a variety of family home styles. The majority of homes here range in age from new – to – 50+ years old. Old Markham Village, at the very heart of the area, has a handful of historical homes built as early as the late-1700s. Franklin Street Public School is technically older than Canada! There are 10,400 businesses and 400 corporate head offices in the City of Markham. Many of those employees choose to call the Markham Village area home. The level of crime is ranked “very low” compared to other areas of Canada. The school systems are excellent.

Amenities
Markham is a melting pot of culturally diverse residents and businesses. We’ve got internationally-themed grocery stores like FoodyMart (Chinese grocery store), Greek Table Grocery & Deli, Markham Fine Foods (specializing in British goods) and South Asian Supermarket. The Flato Markham Theatre and Cineplex VIP Cinema are a 10 minute drive way.
A 1 kilometre long block of restaurants, patios, coffee shops, boutiques, salons, and services. Check out Folco’s Ristorante, a world-class family owned Italian restaurant, or the Duchess of Markham Pub for live music and a lively patio. Inspire Restaurant offers an amazing array of Asian fusion cuisine, and the Old Curiosity Tea Shoppe will have you believing you’re in an old English village. A decades-old favourite for hearty breakfasts and lunches is T&T Bakery, and for decadent desserts check out Cho-Kowk-Lat Patisserie & Chocolaterie. We love It’s The Cat’s Meow coffee shop for it’s unique feline-themed decor and yummy sandwiches and coffee. Station Pizza Parlour & Spaghetti House is a classic, and we are in love with Cupcake Junkie and Love Gelato. If you’re a history buff, you can learn all about the Heritage of Main Street , which dates back to 1793. In the summer, Main Street comes alive with music festivals, car shows, and a weekly Farmers Market. For a directory of businesses and events, check out the Main Street Markham website.
